Daily Recovery Meditations and daily thoughts while reflecting on recovery. Many of these thoughts are from forums and sites that I've created and managed since January 29, 2004. Some are from my own thoughts as they were at those times and some very recent. I believe that sharing thoughts with others reaffirms to me that I've grown in my recovery and I pray that these thoughts may be of help to others in recovery.

daily reflection for April 7-A WIDE ARC OF GRATITUDE
A Wide Arc Of Gratitude
And, speaking for Dr. Bob and myself, I gratefully declare that had it not been for our wives, Anne and Lois, neither of us could have lived to see A.A.'s beginning.

Am I capable of such generous tribute and gratitude to my wife, parents, and friends, without whose support I might never have survived to reach A.A.'s doors? I will work on this and try to see the plan my Higher Power is showing me which links our lives together.

Attitude
Attitude has a lot to do with how we feel, and whats going on around us. If I wake up with a good attitude, more than likely, things are gonna look good to me for the day.
How do I keep a good attitude?
I try my best to get enough sleep
Enough to eat
Enough exercise
Enough fresh air
Enough program
In other words, a well rounded out way of living.
Not saying that there aren’t a few things that I could use MORE of, lol
But I’m getting enough most days
To keep myself living with a GOOD attitude,
Towards Life, my family, fellow employees, and others
That I come in contact with each day.
Not too much of anything
But enough of everything I need
I need companionship and I need my 12 step program
I need my groups online
I need my f2f meetings
All these determine on how my attitude is going to be,
Both to myself
And to others
There’s been days, when I’ve woken up with a BAD attitude
Usually on these days
There’s been something that was missing from the circle for me
Not enough to eat ……………………… H
Carrying resentment towards someone….....A
Not communicating with others………….....L
Not enough sleep………………………….T
Yep, the old H.A.L.T. is what can change my attitude
