Humans Hunting Humans

Posted by George Lewis

In the U.S., before the 1950's, we were known as citizen's. Then Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud's nephew, used Freud's works to invent Public Relations. He wrote a book entitled "Propaganda" to explain it. Soon after, those who would control us began to use it and we quickly lost our designation as 'citizens' and became known as 'consumers.' This propaganda is now worldwide. Sadly, we bought into this new title with joyful glee. Bernays motives were to sell us ideas and things that we did not need or want. His intentions succeeded. This may not sound like a huge shift; never the less, it is a collossal danger to us all. It wasn't long before politics was wielding this new found ability with vigor. Today, witness the Republican Party's hired gun, Frank Luntz who uses these principles effectively and somewhat openly. If you don't know who he is or what he does, Google him. It is well worth your time. Don't think for a moment that by using Luntz as an example that the Democratic party doesn't do the same thing. Unfortunately, the truth is that both parties answer to the same secreted overlords. You may believe that those in real power are visible. hey are not. They work diligently at remaining in the background lest they become targets with their power reduced by knowledge and visibility.

With democracy, America made a huge leap forward in personal freedom and choice. Then with freewill-crushing public relations or propaganda, those wanting total power and control over the masses now had a powerful new force-free method.

If you believe you are in charge of your own destiny, you are mistaken. Certainly we have freedom of choice; however, how much of our freewill is colored by the majority's innate need for love, approval, and other more hidden emotions? These emotions most often show up in our lives as negative dependency and addictions. It is through our unseen emotions that the puppet master pulls our strings. It is a matrix that is even more powerful than the Matrix, in the film of the same name, that Neo fought to destroy.

As we move forward, this loss of personal and group power will become even stronger and more obvious. Science and medicine are extending life, almost on a daily basis. For most, the real danger in this is that these life extenders are super expensive. The time will come when only the very rich will be able to afford them. They will live longer. As they do their power will increase.

The good news is that there is a solution. We need not remain powerless. Living the highest spiritual life doesn't require that we lie down our personal power. It means exactly the opposite. Spirituality asks that we recognize the source of our power and use it rightly. That takes effort and a willingness to put down magical ideas of what spirituality is about. We can become enlightened in an instant. This can seem almost magical. However, once we are struck with enlightenment the real work begins. Anyone having reached such a state will surely attest to this fact. We must still become responsible for the feelings and emotions that drive our lives. Drugs and alcohol and addictions of any kind only add to propaganda's power. It is doing so that we will begin to take our power back from the users of Bernays' tenets.
